What was Doc's idea?: Thee are so many skin conditions that could cause a scab, and sometimes even after an exam, it is difficult to confirm a diagnosis without a biopsy. I'm glad you had it examined, and your doctor would have referred you if it was suspicious for skin cancer or fungal condition. In the meantime, keep the area clean and apply a small amount of topical antibiotic until resolved.
