Maybe or maybe not: The pediatrician can evaluate. Cepodem (cefpodoxime) is an antibacterial that is "broad spectrum" and stops many kinds of bacteria. However, the doctor gets to decide what might be causing a coughing illness in 2 kids in the same family at the same time. Usually, such situations are viral. Much less likely, they are bacterial. Cepodem does not treat viruses. Be sure no vaccines were missed.
