A member asked:

11 wks pregnant. i could smell gas at a cafe for an hour - seated outside. will this affect my baby in any way including its brain development?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doubt it: Gasoline has a pungent odor that can be smelled at a very low part per billion concentration. Your sensitivity can increase during pregnancy. That minimal exposure likely did not reach a concentration in your system that would effect baby. By 11 wks their major parts are already formed. Brain development goes on continuously to postnatal age over 20, so impact is unknown but likely nothing.
