Little concern: Perspective: D dimer tests well known to be nonspecific. A common cause of high D dimer is clot somewhere in the body. So when there's suspicion of clot, D dimer test can be useful. If D-dimer low, usually means no clots. If elevated, doesn't mean there is clot because many things like liver disease, high rheumatoid factor, inflammation, recent surgery, others cause high D-Dimer. Hope this helps.
