A member asked:

If a pneumonia patient eats ice cream, would he drown in his own mucus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Pneumonia is an infectious focal process located within the tissues of the lung. What you eat/drink has little if anything to do with the amount of mucus you develop. It certainly would not make you drown in it.
