? cyclic neutropenia: CN is an inherited condition with variable effect on patients where the neutrophils drop from their average normal range to lower levels on a pattern, usually 3 wks or so. Symptoms like mouth ulcers/sore throat are common. Intensity of symptoms/seriousness depends on how low the neutrophils go. The cited numbers are not low. The diagnosis is made after serial testing.
