Need exam to know: Your cough was likely to be caused by a virus, Which is why it is not resolved with anabiotics. If you have fever or shortness of breath, please be seen ASAP. Regardless, if your cough does resolve, you will need to be seen and examined in person. There are many causes for a persistent cough including asthma and allergies, whooping cough ( pertussis), pneumonia etc...
