Depoprogesterone: Injected depo-progesterone works very effectively by changing the lining cells of the uterus to a state which will prevent attachment (implantation) of a fertilized egg. If the injection is done when not menstruating, it is technically possible if ovulation is occurring and the effect of the injection is not yet accomplished, for implantation to occur, but this interval is very brief.
