Yes: In a variety of studies, small amounts of sperm have been shown to be present in the fluid (the pre-ejaculate) that is in the penis long before ejaculation. Use of a condom before any contact has been recommended to provide the highest possible protection not only from unwanted pregnancy, but also protection from sexually transmitted infections that neither person may know are present.
