A member asked:

I would like to know if it is possible to be pregnant, one week pregnant to be precise, while being on nexplanon?

Pregnancy ? : Nexplanon is a progesterone implant, and is highly accurate in preventing pregnancy, but as with all contraceptive measures, it is not "100%" certain, so pregnancy is "possible". Ovulation is frequently affected by progestin forms of contraception, so delays in menstruation are common. Obtain a serum HCG test in two weeks to be certain about pregnancy.

Not "one week": The way we count weeks of pregnancy is from the beginning of the last menstrual period. Because conception happens after ovulation, usually at mid-cycle, that means by the time conception occurs, a woman is already counted as 2 weeks pregnant. That also means that from 0 to ~2 weeks of pregnancy, nothing has happened at all. Complicated, right?
