Pregnancy ?: Ovulation is the release of an egg which can be fertilized for about 72 hours after release. Ovulation occurs 14 days prior to the onset of a period, so intercourse (assuming all factors are positive for pregnancy to occur) up to three days after ovulation could result in pregnancy.

Yes: Pregnancy is known to have occurred from any and all days of the cycle. If you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time.
