More info needed: That symptom is nonspecific. However persistent upper abdominal pain can be due to gas entrapment,acute gastritis(inflammation of the stomach lining),pylorospasm, peptic ulcer, pancreatitis,acute gastric distension or gall bladder pathology. If pain persists or if there is associated vomiting and or abdominal tenderness, she should go to the hospital emergency room for prompt evaluation and testin
