Many: There are many causes of liver injury, including alcohol, fatty liver disease, hepatitis viruses b and c, autoimmune liver disease (pbc, psc, autoimmune hepatitis), genetic liver disease (hemochromatosis, wilson), and other less common causes. You should dsicuss this with your doctor. Elevated liver enzymes are a sign of liver injury, not dysfunction.
