Hi . i am on depo , i had my period 3 days ago but big clots and tissue came out , could i have had a miscarriage without knowing i was pregnant ?

Miscarriage ?: Miscarriages are common in first pregnancies, and Depo-progesterone is not 100% certain for protection from pregnancy. Obtain a serum HCG test, as sometimes pregnancies occur outside the uterus (ectopic) and need immediate attention. On occasion with Depo-provera, a heavy period will produce blood clots. Check with your gyn physician for alternative birth control if the test is negative.
