A member asked:

We are going to mozambique in a few days time, my daughter is 6 1/2 years old and will be taking paediatric malanil. at the moment she is weighing 20.5kg, the insert says to give 1 x malanil if the child is under 20kg, should i give her 2 x tablets?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Malarial medications: If your child is truly 20.5kg then you are ok to give one tablet. Two tablets are recommended for 21-30 kg. If you think your child more commonly is above 21kg then the recommendation is two tablets.
