A member asked:

My menstrual cycle is never under 22 days and never over 27 days, only varies between 22 -27 days, is that a sign of irregular periods? r is healthy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Short cycles: Periods may vary as described and still be "regular" and healthy. Depending on the sensitivity of your ovarian eggs or the strength of your pituitary production of LH hormone (luteinizing hormone), ovulation may occur at day 8- 12 which would account for a period at 22 or 27 days. Remember that pregnancy is possible within 72 hours or so of your ovulation, which occurs 12-14 days before period.
