Period resumes: After age 30, a woman not on oral bcp's will have generally "heavier" periods, and although "regular", a clot may block the flow of blood for a day or so, then permitting blood already passed to flow again, but with a "brownish color" since it is now oxidized to some extent. This is not unusual, so oral bcp's may be a solution (if there are no contraindications), as periods will be much lighter.
