A member asked:

Type 2 diabetic for 2 years just found microalbumin in urine for 1st time a1c consistently 6.2....are their certain foods to avoid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Drug treatment: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, discuss it with your doctor as there is medication that may counteract the harmful effect of microalbuminuria. It is not a lab error.
