Viable pregnancy ?: At six weeks post ovulation, the pregnancy is dated as about "8 weeks", and an ultrasound can definitely detect a fetal heartbeat if present. A repeat ultrasound should be definitive in another week if the dates are not precise, but a quantitative test for HCG may also be helpful. Ask your OB physician for advice on this.
