A member asked:

What is the percentage in hpv causing urethritis? it seems that it is quite low from everything i've seen it's barely mentioned anywhere.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HPV: urethritis?: HPV is a virus that is transmitted by sexual contact (oral or by hand as well) and does not "cause" urethritis. Sexual contact may infect the urethra, causing a urinary infection (bacterial), so get a urinalysis and culture to make sure you have treatment. Your gyn can also check your blood for evidence of HPV or do a pap smear to detect it.
