Poss seborrheic derm: Small infants will often get redness in the creases of the groin and axilla and behind the ears due to seborrheic dermatitis, and it causes greasy scales on the scalp. It often helps to clean the skin gently and then use powder or cornstarch to keep the skin dry. If this is not helpful, get evaluated for a yeast infection or atopic dermatitis, which are treated differently.
