Early Motion: Radial head fractures that will be treated non operative means require early motion. A splint is applied for pain control initially and generally we try to remove splint within a week and start moving the elbow to prevent long term stiffness. In summary the splint should be removed when pain is better tolerated, this is usually a some point in the first week to ten days following injury.
