Is it safe to supplement my 4 month old breastfed baby with formula?

Baby formula is safe: Baby formula is a safe alternative to breast feeding when mixed and used as directed on the instructions. If you have been in conversation with your baby's pediatrician and it has been determined that supplementation is needed, if for some reason breast milk is not available, or if for personal reasons you have decided to wean, formula is a safe option.

Safe ???????: If you plan to fully breastfeed & have the time to do it, any supplemental feeds can decrease the kids feeding efforts, especially in the first month. These are what triggers you to make more milk. It is not a safety issue as the formulas are safe if prepared properly. If life/work/time management make it difficult to BF, supplements are a safe way to get through your day. Do what fits your needs
