Your options: Ear pain can be canal (outer ear hurts if wiggled), or middle (ear drum stretched). It can be transient & respond to ibuprofen or heat pack to the side of the head, prolonged but self limited or a bacterial infection that requires an exam & treatment with prescription meds. What you do with your time is your choice, but I would have it looked at.
