A member asked:

Pregnancy symptoms but neg. beta hcg at 53 days and negative tv ultrasound at 59 days from last contact. is this conclusive?terrified im pregnant!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnant?: A serum HCG level at 53 days post contact is very accurate , and if negative, eliminates pregnancy (unless there is a very recent contact). If you have not had a period, this is a normal interval for times in the pre-menopausal time frame. Serum estrogen levels are increased in this time, giving you some symptoms similar to pregnancy, but no ovulation has occurred.
