A member asked:

For the past week i occasionally get an excruciating shooting pain on my left outter thigh. feels like a sting takes my breath away, lasts 30 sec?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nerve: There may be a pinched lateral femoral cutaneous nerve which runs through the groin into the outside of the thigh. This may also cause tingling or numbness. Prolonged sitting, being overweight are predisposing features. It's more of a nuisance disorder. A neurologist could confirm the diagnosis.
