Depends : Clindamycin is a antibiotic used to treat certain infections, usually skin related. However, if you have a urine or kidney infection, when you go to the doctor (or hospital), they take a sample of your urine (and sometimes blood) to identify the exact bacteria causing the infection. Clindamycin might be used if the bacteria shows the greatest weakness to it, but it is not a common initial choice.
