My 2.5 year old boy is having fever on and off since monday. he is on antibiotics since yesterday. fever ranges between 37-39.5.

Missing data: Fever is a natural response to illness and nothing more than a signal. You mention antibiotics, but not the reason they were started. It is unlikely antibiotics would immediately stop the natural fever response to illness in 24 hrs. With no more information to go on I suggest you give it another day & see what happens.
