A member asked:

For thyroid control before pregnancy...is this necessary for subclinical hypothyroid too?

No such disease: Either your thyroid function is normal or it is not. If it is not, take synthroid (thyroxine) to normalize it. If it is normal, do nothing.

Ideally: Ideally your thyroid should be normal before you get pregnant. However; during pregnancy the baby places increased demands on your thyroid and you may require more medication. Your thyroid function should be checked at once a trimester while pregnant.
