High fiber: A diet of at least 35 grams of fiber. Increase slowly. High fiber removes cholesterol from the blood and into the stool via the liver and the gallbladder. High fiber foods include beans, whole grain products, fresh vegetables and fresh fruit. Processed foods, meat chicken and fish and dairy have no fiber and should be a lesser part of your diet.
