PID pain: PID is usually painful in then lower abdomen and pelvis. Hip pain is not typical. If your pain is mostly in your hip then evaluation by a doctor is warranted to make sure nothing else is going on. PID is most commonly caused by the sexually transmitted disease gonorrhea and chlamydia
