Medications for ADHD: May contribute to insomnia but adhd itself may do so. Proper treatment of adhd may eliminate sleep problems that are from adhd. If meds (stimulants like methylphenidate & amphetamines) cause sleep problem then talk with prescriber about other options including (add-on or replacement by) clonidine, guanfacine, or atomoxetine.
