A member asked:

Ive been bleeding vaginally for the past 3 months, no one seems to know why. today, huge bloodclots came out and pushed out my tampon! ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Heavy period ?: "Three months of bleeding" I assume is continuous, so if you were not on birth control pills, at age 24 it is very unusual. If pregnancy is possible, get a serum HCG test to be certain, since pregnancies outside the uterus can cause this kind of bleeding (ectopic), although doubtful for this length of time. Fibroid tumors (benign) can also cause this. See your gyn for an ultrasound exam.
