Yes: Some women do have more bleeding after Mirena (levonorgestrel) placement. I tell my patients, it can take awhile for the Mirena (levonorgestrel) to get settled in the uterus. If the bleeding persists after a few weeks, for instance, more than 3, see your doctor. It could be in the wrong location? Or there is a lot of lining that is shedding. Your doctor may chose to remove and replace, or give you a pill to help bleeding
