Splitting hairs: This is usually not due to a "failure" of the stent, which is still in place and working. The most common reason for return of your symptoms is the growth of new fatty soft tissue in the inside of the stent, or at the edges of the stent. This is felt to be due to your body trying to heal from the insult to the artery by the stent insertion. Some people have a very active system and block again.
