Drug interactions: Interactions between these 2 drugs may increase the risk of side effects in the gastrointestinal tract such as inflammation, bleeding, ulceration, and rarely, perforation. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications.

WHY the prednisone?: Why these meds? Toradol [NSAID] can cause stomach bleeding by inhibition of prostaglandin. Prednisone [steroid] also can cause stomach bleed. Together the risk is much greater. Food is not a factor. Prolonged blood levels increase bleeding risk. With extended use the DR may give her med to try to protect her stomach.
