Not particularly: Nasal mucus will begin to color over a few hours from the normal germs present in the nasal airway.Infants at 6 wks have not developed sinuses that might trap infections. A good washout of the nose with saline followed by suction will help. Removing odors/dust/fragrances that can trigger such drainage also helps.
