UTI: Sulfamethoxazole, or Bactrim, is indeed a good antibiotic for a UTI (in general). It should always be prescribed by a physician and you should take the entire course. If you have leftover antibiotics in your medicine cabinet from a previous illness, it is a bad idea to start taking them for urinary symptoms. Make sure you see a doctor, either in person or online, to discuss your symptoms.
