Exam needed: The issues you describe can be the result of bruxism, caries, or even staining. Without an exam with radiographs it is impossible to tell. That's why it is important that you visit a local dentist for an exam.

Discoloration: Dark teeth can look longer than normal colored teeth. That said, lots of possible causes for both including decay, eating disorder, methadone, diet, defective enamel, etc. Please see your Dentist to discover cause, and then appropriate treatment can be prescribed.
