It happens: Once the edges of this tissue has lost its blood supply & begun to deteriorate it will have a cream colored sticky quality. The most I ever do with these is dab a bit of peroxide to bubble out any left over blood, but saliva has anti-bacterial qualities that make any treatment unnecessary. They heal well over time.
