Dont douche: The key is a proper diagnosis. If BV is the problem then there are a variety of treatment protocols for recurrent cases. One trick is to use Nuvaring for birth control. It stabilizes the vaginal ph to 3.5-5.5 which keeps yeast and BV away. This is a nice and not commonly well known side effect. Douching destroys the ability of the vagina to balance itself. Avoid.

Exam: Douching can cause this problem and should be avoided. Estrogen cream (Estrace, Premarin) may help. However, I strongly encourage you to have a complete medical exam first. The examining physician will than determine the best treatment for your condition.
