When ready: Parenting success is not defined by your age. It is more a frame of mind based on a joint realization that both prospective parents are emotionally ready for the work and stress involved in the process. Women retain fertility well into their 40's and men into their 60's and beyond. Issues of financial, housing work, family support, etc. all come into play.
