Sharp pain: If the sharp pain is very fleeting and aggravated by a deep breath it may be a pinched intercostal nerve or muscle that runs between 2 ribs. Another possibility is a strained portion of the rib cage. These conditions usually resolve with rest unless there is ongoing strain. Since your discomfort has persisted,I recommend an examination of your breast and chest to include a lung exam as well
