Maybe: What else is going on ? Is the kid otherwise vigorous & feeding well? Put a finger tip under the eye and tug the skin down to reveal the inside of the lower eyelid. If that skin is pink, the kid just has a darker tongue. If that skin is blue you have a problem & need to take the kid to the hospital now.
