Tampon removal: Tampons are prime sources of potential infection, if not removed over time, but "nine hours" is usually not a concern. The bacteria which are always present in the vaginal canal can eventually generate "toxins" which can be serious, so keep extras with you when having your period, and change them every few hours, depending on flow.
