Helicobacter Pylori : Helicobacter Pylori is a bacteria that can live in the stomach and cause GERD or gastritis symptoms and ultimately ulcers. If a person tests positive for H. Pylori, then treatment should be started because of the risk of ulcer development within 10 yrs. Testing can be done by blood, breath testing, or an endoscopic tissue biopsy.
