"Morning after": The "morning after" pills are virtually the same as birth control pills, which when taken, will also raise the estrogen level, and as this effect wears off, spotting or even light bleeding will occur as the estrogen level diminishes. If other symptoms occur (breast tenderness, etc.) get a serum HCG test to make certain you are not pregnant.
