Never considered it: I have never considered checking a kid for std's prior to the gardisil. If approved, i would give it to every kid i could starting at 5yo. The guardian who thinks this would be wise should discuss it with the kid, and with his or her permission, set up a separate appointment to screen for std's.

No: Screening for stds is not required prior to administration of the Gardasil vaccine. Gardasil protects from the most common strains of hpv (human papillomavirus) but has no effect on other stds.
