Blood clots ?: True blood clots are like congealed jelly, and are not "hard". A substance which is firm and "hard" may be what is called a "pedunculated " fibroid, or a tumor ("benign") which twisted on it's blood supply and was extruded by strong uterine contractions. Save the clot, if possible, and show it to your gyn provider.

Clots not normal: Blood clots expressed at a menstrual period represents arterial bleeding not normal venous and endometrial deterioration. See a GYN MD if this is your continuous circumstance as anemia can result very rapidly.
