It happens sometimes: After a baby is born, she does not get exposed to Mom's hormones any more. That is why normal newborn girls can have some mucus discharge from the vagina, usually whitish discharge, with or without some blood mixed in. The discharge stops after just a few days. If it keeps on happening, a pediatrician can take a look at the 2-week-old check-up.
